Send audio from your tablet

Tablet to Yoto

Open the Yoto app while your linked Player or Mini is online, then enable Bluetooth Pairing in Settings. In your tablet’s Bluetooth settings, select the Yoto device with its four-digit code. After the chime, audio played on the tablet will use the Yoto speaker.

Tablet to Creative-Tonie

Use the tonies app to upload an MP3 or WAV file from your tablet to a Creative-Tonie. Assign the audio to your Creative-Tonie, save it, and sync the Toniebox to make the story available.

Upload a story purchased elsewhere to your Yoto

To upload a story you purchased on an external website (like Libro.fm, Downpour, or Bandcamp) to your Yoto, the audio must be in MP3 or M4A format. You will create a Make Your Own (MYO) playlist in your Yoto account and link it to a physical Make Your Own card.

  1. 1. Download & extract audio files

Download the audio files from the website to your phone, tablet, or computer. If the purchased story downloaded as a .zip file, unzip/extract it first to access the individual MP3 or M4A files.

  2. 2. Create a Yoto playlist

Via Yoto App or Web Browser. On a phone or tablet, open the Yoto App, tap the Create tab at the bottom, and select Make a playlist. On a computer, log into my.yotoplay.com. Name your playlist, click Add Audio, and select the downloaded story files from your device.

  3. 3. Customize tracks & save

Optional. Reorder tracks if necessary, rename chapters, and assign pixel display icons to each track (these display on the Yoto screen during playback). Tap Save.

  4. 4. Link to a Make Your Own card

In the Yoto App, find your playlist under Library > Playlists, tap the three dots or playlist menu, and select Link to a card. Tap to Phone (NFC): hold a blank Make Your Own card against the back top edge of your phone until a green checkmark appears. In the Yoto Player: insert the blank card into your Yoto Player while it is turned on and connected to Wi-Fi, then confirm the link in the app.

Note: Each Make Your Own card/playlist supports up to 100 tracks, a maximum of 100 MB / 60 minutes per single track, and up to 5 hours total audio. You can overwrite and relink Make Your Own cards as many times as you like.
